Air Mauritius to increase flights to Madagascar & Kenya

The flag carrier of Mauritius, Air Mauritius, will boost its scheduled services to Madagascar and Kenya from 28 Oct 2012. The arline will increase the number of flights between its main base at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport (known as SSR Airport; IATA: MRU) on Mauritius and Nairobi, Kenya, from 2 weekly to 3 weekly services and between SSR Airport and Antananarivo on Madagascar from 4 weekly to 6 weekly flights.
As part of the airline’s cost-saving plan, Air Mauritius will discontinue its direct route to Durban, South Africa, in October 2012.
Air Mauritius has currently codeshare agreements with Air France (SSR Airport <> Paris, on several European routes radiating from Paris), Emirates (SSR Airport <> Dubai), Malaysia Airlines (on some routes radiating from Kuala Lumpur) and with South African Airways (SSR Airport <> Johannesburg).
SSR Airport is located at Plaine Magnien, near Plaisance, about 48km southeast of Port Louis, the capital of Mauritius.
